Workshop 1 - Me as a Designer

The workshop was of "Me as a Designer", in particular:

-    Lecture about how designers gather practical knowledge.

-    Reflection the parallel between System Designers and Fashion Designers

 

Lecturer: Peter Zomer

Personal Contribution: Reflection on "Me as a Designer" within the team, and alone.

Obtained Results: Better understanding of the role of Designer, understanding of how to reflect on past experiences/mistakes to extract the most out of them. Keep a Reflection Report with all the interesting experiences that might help me in the future. 

Workshop 2 - Moments of surprise

The workshop was focused on feedback and team peer review, in particular:

  • Reflection on problems or "moments of surprise" that came up during the In-House project

  • Development of empiric "thumb rules" that helped to solve the problems

  • Peer evaluation session

  • Reflection on the peer review and development of diagrams explaining the reflection

Personal Contribution: Reflection on "moments of surprise" within the team, Discussion in the workshop

Obtained Results: Better understanding the problems that came up during the project and formal formulation of thumb rules that I consider important, Reflection of personal feedback,  better understanding of my skills and pitfalls.

 

 

Workshop 3 - Core quadrants

The workshop was focused on Daniel Ofman's theory on core quadrants. In particular:

  • Presentation of a method for identifying and strengthening personal qualities

  • Realization that qualities have pitfalls, and what are they

  • What is a quality that corrects that pitfall and aim to it.

  • How to bring balance.

Obtained Results: Better understanding of what are my qualities and pitfalls, and better awareness of myself

 

 

Workshop 4 - Think like Leonardo Da Vinci

The workshop was focused on Creativity, and what creativity is all about. In particular:

  • Description of the different components of creativity

  • Exercise on each component 

  • Evaluation of my own creative capacities

  • Exercise on combining ideas

Obtained Results: Better understanding of creativity and which aspects of creativity are stronger in me.

 

Workshop 5 - MBTI review + Feedback

The workshop focused on the review of MBTI categories of each one of us to start a reflection, feedback session about the past project and reflection on core quadrants

 

Lecturer: Peter Zomer

Personal Contribution: Team feedback session, Personal reflection.

Obtained Results: Better understanding of what are my qualities and pitfalls, and better awareness of myself. Correction of MBTI category.

 

 

Workshop 6 - Team Dynamics

The workshop focused on the analysis and understanding of group dynamics. A formal way of analysis was introduced and used to analyze our team after 10 months of collaboration. The main use of this analysis is to find out the loops that are present in the team and which ones escalate, point out unwanted team behavior and find a solution for it.

 

Lecturer: Peter Zomer

Personal Contribution: Team exercise,

Obtained Results: Better understanding of the behaviors that are present in the team, and a common ground for discussion over the unwanted ones.
